Alix Marion is responsible for the personal information processed through the RideEnergy website and support service.

Scope and purpose
RideEnergy helps electric bike riders estimate whether their battery will last for a GPX route and plan suitable assistance levels.
RideEnergy is designed around data minimisation. The app does not require an account and does not use advertising, third-party analytics or cross-app tracking.
The current version does not request access to your current location or Apple Health data.
Information processed by RideEnergy
RideEnergy may process the following information locally on your iPhone:
GPX route coordinates, elevations, route names and distances
bike name, battery capacity, bike weight and bike type
optional motor description and assistance mode names
rider weight
battery percentage at the start and desired battery percentage at the finish
predicted energy use, assistance plans and uncertainty ranges
actual battery percentage entered after a ride
whether the recommended assistance plan was followed
local parameters used to tailor future estimates
A GPX file may contain precise location information about a route. RideEnergy reads the file you select without modifying the original. The app does not keep a raw copy of the GPX file.
To let you reopen a planned ride, the processed route and its estimates may remain stored locally until you delete the plan.
How the information is used
RideEnergy uses this information only to:
analyse the distance, elevation and gradients of a route
estimate energy use along the route
estimate the battery percentage at the finish
calculate an assistance plan based on the desired finish percentage
display the route and energy use on a map
save planned rides and completed ride results
cautiously tailor future estimates using the results you enter
remember your bike and rider settings
RideEnergy does not use this information for advertising, marketing, data brokerage or profiling unrelated to the app’s functions.
Local processing and network activity
Route processing, energy calculations, assistance optimisation and estimate personalisation take place on your iPhone.
RideEnergy has no developer-operated backend and does not send your GPX routes, bike information, rider weight, estimates or ride results to the publisher.
Some Apple services may require a network connection:
Apple Maps provides the map and may load cartographic data for the area displayed
StoreKit connects to the App Store to load products, verify purchases and restore access
the file provider you select, such as iCloud Drive, may provide the GPX file according to your own settings
These services are operated by Apple or the selected file provider under their respective privacy policies.
Purchases
RideEnergy offers a one-time in-app purchase through Apple’s StoreKit system.
Apple processes payment details and retains purchase history. RideEnergy receives product information and verified access status, but does not receive your full payment information.
The publisher does not store Apple transaction identifiers, receipts or payment history.
Storage and retention
Bike profiles, rider weight, planned rides, ride results and estimate personalisation remain in the app’s protected local storage.
RideEnergy may store up to 20 planned rides, subject to an overall size limit that protects device performance. The ride history is limited to the 20 most recent results and does not retain GPX coordinates.
You can delete an individual bike or planned ride by swiping its row to the left. Ride history and estimate personalisation can be cleared from the Your Estimates screen.
You can erase all RideEnergy user data from the Privacy screen. This removes bikes, rider weight, planned rides, results and estimate personalisation from the device.
Deleting this information does not change a purchase managed by Apple and does not restore the free analysis.
A technical Keychain marker records only whether the free analysis has been used. It contains no route, personal identifier, bike information or ride result. It may remain after the app is removed so that reinstalling the app does not create another free analysis.
Deleting RideEnergy removes its current local app data. Depending on your device settings, iOS may also include app data in backups managed by Apple.
Website and support information
The RideEnergy website is hosted by Hostinger. Hostinger may process technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested page and access time to deliver, secure and maintain the website.
The website may use cookies required for operation and consent management. Non-essential analytics or advertising cookies must not be placed before consent is given.
If you contact support, the publisher and the email service used for support receive the email address, message and attachments you choose to provide.
Do not send confidential GPX files, precise private routes, payment details or information that is not necessary to resolve your request.
Support messages are retained only for as long as necessary to answer the request, maintain service continuity, comply with legal obligations or manage a legal claim. They are then deleted or anonymised where appropriate.
Recipients and international transfers
The publisher does not sell your personal information.
Apple, the file provider you select, Hostinger and the email service used for support may process limited information required to provide their respective services.
Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area using an adequacy decision, standard contractual clauses or another applicable legal safeguard.

Your rights and choices
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability for personal information held through the website or a support exchange.
Because the publisher does not receive your GPX routes, bike profiles, rider weight or ride results, these items must be managed directly in RideEnergy or through your device settings.

You may also lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority, the CNIL, at https://www.cnil.fr, or with the competent authority in your country.
Security
RideEnergy minimises the information it processes and uses iOS app storage, file-protection and Keychain mechanisms.
No storage or transmission method is completely risk-free, but RideEnergy is designed to avoid unnecessary collection and external transmission.
Changes
This policy may be updated if RideEnergy, its service providers or applicable law changes.
Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised update date.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I import a GPX route?
Open RideEnergy, select Import a Route, then choose a GPX file from the system file picker.
If the file contains several tracks or routes, RideEnergy asks which one you want to analyse.
The selected route must contain enough distinct coordinates and sufficiently complete elevation data. Large gaps, invalid coordinates or implausible elevation values may prevent analysis.
Why was my GPX file rejected?
RideEnergy may reject a file when:
it is not a valid GPX file
it contains no usable route
it is larger than 20 MB
it contains too few distinct coordinates
too much elevation information is missing
separate route sections contain large gaps
the calculated gradients are physically implausible
Try exporting the route again from its original service, preferably as a continuous GPX track with corrected elevation data.
What information is required for an estimate?
RideEnergy needs:
battery capacity in Wh
bike weight
electric bike type
rider weight
available assistance levels
The motor description is optional because RideEnergy does not rely on a manufacturer connection or motor control.
How accurate is the estimate?
RideEnergy combines physical calculations with assumptions about speed, rider power, motor efficiency, rolling resistance and aerodynamic resistance.
Actual energy use can change because of wind, temperature, surface, tyre pressure, battery condition, riding speed, luggage and the assistance levels actually used.
For this reason, RideEnergy displays an uncertainty range. The estimate is not a guarantee that the battery will last.
How is the assistance plan calculated?
RideEnergy looks at the whole route and tries to provide as much useful assistance as possible while preserving the battery percentage requested at the finish.
It does not simply select the lowest assistance level. Assistance is prioritised where it provides the most value, particularly on demanding climbs.
Short consecutive recommendations are grouped to avoid asking you to change assistance every few hundred metres.
What does the free analysis include?
The first GPX analysis is free and includes the route analysis, map, battery estimate, uncertainty range and assistance plan.
The planned ride remains available so you can reopen the plan and enter the actual battery percentage after the ride.
Further route analyses, ride history, personalised estimates and up to 10 bike profiles require the one-time lifetime purchase.
Deleting the app or erasing local data does not create another free analysis.
I purchased lifetime access but it is not active
Open the lifetime access screen and select Restore Purchase while signed in with the Apple Account used for the purchase.
RideEnergy uses a one-time purchase with no subscription.
If Apple reports a billing or refund issue, visit https://reportaproblem.apple.com.
Never send payment credentials or your Apple Account password to support.
Can I change the name of a planned ride?
Yes. Swipe the planned ride to the left, then select Rename.
The same gesture also provides the option to delete the planned ride.
How can I improve future estimates?
After a ride, enter the actual battery percentage shown by your bike and indicate whether you followed the recommended assistance plan.
RideEnergy uses reliable observations progressively and avoids changing the model too strongly after a single ride.
A ride that did not follow the plan or contains inconsistent battery values may be stored with reduced influence or excluded from personalisation.
Does RideEnergy upload my routes or results?
No developer-operated server receives your GPX routes, bike information, rider weight, estimates or ride results.
Apple Maps may load map data for the area displayed. Apple also manages purchases through the App Store, and your selected file provider may supply the GPX file.

How do I delete my data?
You can delete individual bikes and planned rides by swiping their rows to the left.
You can clear ride results and estimate personalisation from Your Estimates.
To erase all RideEnergy user data, open Privacy and select Erase My Data.
Your Apple purchase and the technical marker recording use of the free analysis are not removed by this action.
Does RideEnergy control my electric bike?
No. RideEnergy does not connect to or control the motor.
The assistance plan is a recommendation that you apply manually using your bike’s controls.
Is RideEnergy a navigation or safety service?
No. RideEnergy is an energy-planning tool.
It does not provide turn-by-turn navigation, control the motor, monitor the bike’s real battery level or account for every road, trail, weather or mechanical condition.
Always follow local rules, official closures, signs, weather conditions, manufacturer guidance and your own judgement.
